Report of the day:
The day started early with a short spell of drizzle rain whilst we were setting up the tents. Weather brightend during the day with only a
short sharp shower in the afternoon but did not dampen anyones enjoyment. 6 Traders and members from around 20 clubs for all over the
North of England attended the event. A good time was had by all, many people taking to the waters to demonstrate there models with many
other scale models all looking great on the water, with many taking part in the ‘parade’ at 2pm. Many thanks to all those who attended and
we look forward to seeing you all again next year. A special thanks to ALL club members and wives who helped in the setting up and
running of the successful event yet again this year.

Now becoming one of the most popular events in our calendar. With many clubs and traders in attendance and the weather being
most kind on the day. A well done to all those who help setup and participated in the great day.
Thanks to those who kindly supported the raffle with the donations being greatfully accepted.
Special mention to the ‘Help for Heros’ display and a big thanks to all who supported them.
Sunday the 11th December, a good turn out for the annual Christmas lunch with over 50 members & family attending.
A wonderful meal was enjoyed by all, with friendly staff on hand.
After the meal a presentation and the annual ‘Gotchas’ were performed. A short speech from the club
Chairman Phill Bowker and the award of the Ron Broderick Trophy by club President Brian Daffern to
a very surprised Gary Dyson. The trophy is awarded to the club member / members who have shown
great enthusiasm towards the club over the last year.
This was then followed by a presentation of M&S vouchers to the ladies who ran the tea tent and sold
raffle tickets throughout the year at our many events, Pat Reffin, Karen Behan, Val Hayes, Lynne Eccles,
Kathleen Stone, Cath Idle and Audrey Senior.
The presenation was then followed by the Christmas raffle, many thanks Ann Daffern and Elaine Bowker
for their work in collecting the raffle prizes and selling the tickets on the day.
Following the raffle, Stan Reffin produced his usual crop of amusing Gotcha’s (see below)
Many thanks to all those who made this an enjoyable event
