Copyright: Kirklees Model Boat Club 2010-2012 Officer of the day report (Stuart Smith), The George trophy event was run again as a sail race this year. The day was dry, bright and not overly cold but the winds were very strong and gusty, making any sailing a challenge for our small yachts - let alone racing. Never the less 6 skippers entered there boats into the fray. They were frequently knocked down, spun around and turned into submarines. Several were arrested by floating branches and leaves that seem inevitable at this time of year. However the winner eventually emerged with a clear win by Stephen Sullivan with his Northwind 28.
